Mercury Bay is the ideal gateway to all that the Eastern Coromandel has to offer. Within an hour of scenic boat travel from Whitianga there are miles of diveable coastline to explore, over 30 islands including the Mercury Islands and Aldermen Islands groups, Te Whanganui-a-Hei Marine Reserve, as well as countless rocks, pinnacles, and bays. New Zealand diving is some of the best in the world. Mercury Bay offers some of the best diving in New Zealand.

Our extensive retail shop stocks all the equipment required to meet your SCUBA, snorkel, & freediving needs.
We are an accredited PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre and have our own in-house PADI Course Director, Darrell Bird. We are committed to delivering PADI Instructor Development Courses and continuing education opportunities to dive professionals. We excel in using the PADI teaching system of diver education to introduce people to SCUBA diving, and then provide the continuing education that allows individuals to progress on to the dive professional level.
We are proud to be the only store at this level on the Coromandel Peninsula.
The Health and Safety at Work (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2016 deal with the provision of adventure activities and this Act requires Dive Operators to be audited and meet safety standards set. An OutdoorsMark certification shows that your organisation has met the highest standard of safety in the adventure activities industry. Dive Zone Whitianga is the only Adventure Activity Safety Audit Certified Dive Operator in Whitianga.
