National Certificates

National Certificate courses are available from level 3 to level 6 on a part-time or full-time basis, starting with Foundation (Open Water to Rescue Diver), then Leadership (Dive Master) & finally Instruct (PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor).

All certificate courses are Student Loan approved to NZ citizens and persons who hold current NZ residency for a minimum of 2 years. International students can also apply for enrolment but will not be eligible for financial assistance from Studylink.

Each National Certificate course is 12 weeks long if studying full-time, but can also be completed on a part-time basis.

Diploma in Professional Scuba Instruction

This programme encompasses the qualifications of all of the National Certificates in Diving, but the Diploma takes it one step further. Graduates will be certified as a PADI Specialty Instructor, having completed additional training in 5 different specialty areas such as Boat, Deep, Underwater Navigation and more.

During the Diploma course you will learn how to plan and run dive trips, organise and maintain SCUBA gear, interpret weather information, and lead groups on underwater explorations. You will also gain a variety of other valuable skills such as Advanced First Aid, Retail and Sales techniques. Before completing your Diploma we will work with you to develop a targeted resume to kick start your new career as a SCUBA Instructor.

This course also incorporates the Certificate in Medic First Aid Career Instruction course, so not only do you achieve PADI Specialty Instructor status, you will also be qualified as a Medic First Aid Instructor!

This programme runs for 42 weeks from February until November.
